Mike Simpson, a vehicle systems engineer at NREL, will discuss the value proposition that plug-in electric vehicles can provide when properly integrated to the electric grid. Grid integration involves the coordination of many systems: vehicle usage patterns, batteries, charging stations, buildings and utilities to maximize the efficiency between the electrical demands on the grid and the available energy generation sources. Mike will also discuss various projects in process at NREL.
