CU Boulder, Parking and Transportation Services, will be highlighting some of the latest EV and non-gas powered vehicle technology, ranging from a fully electric bus, to eBikes, and more. Some vehicles will be available to test drive or ride in; others will be just for show. All will be cool! Come check out this event…and bring a friend! The event is open to everyone.

Is Elon Musk the Reincarnation of Nikola Tesla?

DEVC Member and Speaker, Tom Keller will be giving a talk on Nikola Tesla and Elon Musk on Sunday, May 20th at 1:00 PM. Kay Talley and the Denver Tesla Club will host this pot luck afternoon, so bring a dish or beverage along. Hang out with your fellow Tesla and EV owners, chat and learn some new facts from the speaker!

In addition to being a Historian and Speaker, Tom Keller is a graduate of California State University at Los Angeles with a Bachelor of Arts in Industrial Psychology, with advanced studies in Social Sciences. He has done extensive research on Nikola Tesla and early electric cars. Did you know that Nikola lived in the Knob Hill neighborhood in Colorado Springs for eight months in 1899-1900 and that he had an Electric Car in the early 1930s?

COSEIA Solar Power Mountain West Conference

The Colorado Solar Energy Industries Association will be holding their annual Solar Power Mountain West Conference at the Hyatt Regency Aurora Conference Center, 13200 East 14th Place, on March 12-14. The DEVC will provide an EV Showcase at their Solar Career Expo on the afternoon of Wednesday the 14th of March, from Noon to 5:00 PM, which is free and open to the public. They would like a variety of 8-10 vehicles for the event. So far we have LEAFs and Teslas, but we need other models. Please contact Jill Bishop at: jbanounou@gmail.com if you and your vehicle are available that afternoon and let her know of any time limitations. Panasonic Celebration

Panasonic would like 3-5 EVs to park inside the hall during their 100th anniversary celebration (described below). They are expecting 800 visitors, so if you want to show your car to lots of people this is the event.

Please contact Gary Skinner (gsknnr at gmail) to let him know if you can show, to allocate room room. Please RSVP by Thursday March 1st. DEVC will also have a table, so help would be appreciated.

Our January meeting will be Saturday the 20th at IBEW 68 in Denver. This will be a business meeting for the annual election of officers for President, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary. We will also confirm additional DEVC Board Member appointees for Webmaster, Newsletter Editor and Committee Chairpersons. Current committees are: EVSE Charging, EV Conversion, Education Outreach and Facebook. Changes to the By-Laws will also be approved. The meeting will then be open for input from the members and visitors on the upcoming 2018 DEVC meetings, events and activities. If you would like to run for any office, be considered for any appointed position, or provide written input, please email David at jdmc44@comcast.net

May Meeting: Horizons EV Club
