Saturday May 17th, 6:00 PM
20 Lakeview Drive, Nederland, Colorado
The May meeting will be a Plaque Dedication in honor of Jean and George Gless, who for many years were involved in the beginning and the continued success of the DEVC. This will take place at the Carousel of Happiness on Saturday the 17th at 6:00 PM. The location is 20 Lakeview Drive (just off Highway 119) in Nederland.
The Carousel of Happiness is Nederland Colorado’s magical menagerie featuring 56 whimsical, hand-carved animals on a restored 1910 Looff carousel, turning to the music of a 1913 Wurlitzer band organ. They also have a demonstration building for green, energy-saving technologies and a community space for meetings, parties, and etc. More info at: http://www.carouselofhappiness.org/
Certainly bring your favorite small people along as their presence will certainly enhance the Carousel’s considerable magic. Please RSVP to Marcia Hoebreckx at firstname.lastname@example.org.
EV Owners Unite!
Don Dulchinos, co-chair of the DEVC EV Charging Committee, invites you to join the EV Owners of Colorado (EVOC). The purpose of the group is to aggregate the voice of EV owners to convince government entities, business and property owners and the general public that investing in EV infrastructure encourages the growth of the EV market, with the benefits to all of cleaner air, a growing clean energy industry, and reduced dependence on oil.
Email Don at email@example.com, with your name and the town where you live. Your name and email will not be shared, but you will be counted as one of the (growing) number of EV Owners who are delivering a unified message. A preliminary blog is set up at evocolo.wordpress.com, with a new site in development.
Don hopes EVOC can support the larger goals and activities of the DEVC EV Charging Committee. A quick note: the Committee already has worked with the Clean Cities Coalition to set up an EV infrastructure presentation to the Boulder Chamber of Commerce. Date to be determined.

During 2014, the DEVC is creating committees to help promote EVs. The first committee to be created is the EV Charging Committee. The committee’s goals are to increase the availability of charging stations, and educate the community on their charging options.
Mary Broderick and Don Dulchinos are leading this committee. They would like to learn about your EV charging experiences, and where you would like to see new charging stations (EVSE) installed. They are actively looking for people to join them in this committee. So please talk with them at our next meeting. Don’s email address will also be in the next newsletter, if you would like to email him.
